How Much Does WooCommerce Maintenance Really Cost?

The honest number

Routine WooCommerce upkeep for a small store is roughly $99–$299 per month. A one-off cleanup of a neglected store typically lands between $300 and $800 depending on how much is broken. Both figures are on our What the monthly number should cover

If a quote excludes restore-tested backups and applied-and-tested updates, it is not maintenance. It is a hosting bill with extra steps.

The five things that actually cause the bill

  • Plugin accumulation. Every plugin is code somebody has to maintain, and two overlapping plugins is a common cause of slow checkout.
  • Product data debt. Missing images, inconsistent categories and varying product dimensions slow the shop and confuse search engines.
  • Theme sprawl. A page builder plus a theme plus three add-ons is a stack that eventually breaks in a way nobody wants to debug.
  • Untested updates. The single largest avoidable cost.
  • Nobody owning it. If no one is responsible, the store degrades quietly and the eventual repair is always the emergency one.

If the store is slow, that is usually not maintenance

And if revenue is the actual problem, the cause is usually the funnel rather than the platform — that is covered in when checkout is quietly losing orders. The Next step
